Abstract

Homology and cohomology of a topological space are fundamental invariants of the space which contain lots of information about it. Indeed, the notions of homology and cohomology are useful in many other contexts and homological algebra tells us how to use these notions in general. In this lecture series, we will discuss several important tools of homological algebra and their applications to various areas of mathematics. Our main reference will be "An introduction to homological algebra" written by Charles A. Weibel.
